Unqualified Geography Teacher Vacancy (Bourne End Academy)
The Bourne End Academy based in Buckinghamshire is looking to appoint a trainee geography teacher for a September 2020 start. This is a paid position, an exciting opportunity to join E-Act, an outstanding and growing multi-academy trust that has uncompromising aspirations for all.
You will teach geography across Key Stages 3-5. This is a permanent position (employed directly by the school). As a trainee teacher, you will provide the professional and pedagogical guidance needed to promote and maintain the Bourne End Academy’s core values and high levels of achievement for pupils.
The E-act multi-academy trust is made up of a growing number of schools based all across England, working together to support the needs of pupils and raise aspiration/achievement for all. Standards of behaviour and attendance are consistent across the schools, and outstanding teaching is secured through the continual development of staff.
This opportunity is an unqualified teaching post, paying an annual salary £18,500 prior to achieving qualified status. You will be placed onto the Teacher Training UK Teacher Training programme where you will be working towards achieving QTLS (paid for by the school).
Applicants will be shortlisted against the following criteria:
1. English and Maths GCSE or equivalent (grade C or above)
2. UK university degree (2:1 or above, although we are willing to consider applicants who have a 2:2, who can demonstrate an aptitude for teaching), or recognised equivalent, linked closely to geography.

They should have good communication skills, a positive attitude, demonstrate resilience, and the ability to make decisions and to take initiative. They should have the willingness and potential to learn, show commitment to all students' learning, recognise the value of collaborative working, show respect for young people and teachers' skills and enjoy the school environment.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited attend an interview day at Bourne End Academy. The day will include a tour of the school, an interview and the opportunity to deliver part of a lesson to a class (you will be notified of the topic and class details in advance of the interview date). You will meet senior leaders and colleagues from your prospective departments in the course of the day, and you will be given plenty of opportunities to ask questions.
